NOTE: This year, the MCC will be looking at how best to use
our preK-12 education funds to connect young people with the arts,
sciences, and humanities. We'll be talking with students, educators,
cultural organizations, and parents about how best to support the
development of creative minds in today's education and economic
climate. As a result, there will be no application cycle for Creative
Teaching Partners this year.
About the Partners
Creative Teaching Partners connect schools, cultural groups, social
service organizations, and others with outstanding artists, science
educators, cultural organizations, and folklorists qualified to conduct
in-depth residencies, professional development workshops for educators,
school and district planning projects, and youth development programs.
Creative Teaching Partners are individual artists, artist groups,
and science educators who have track records working in school and/or
after-school settings and maintain active professional involvement
in arts, humanities, or science disciplines and in their education
work. These artists and educators have a commitment to ongoing professional
development that enhances their artistic, scientific, and pedagogical
skills.
Becoming a Creative Teaching Partner
Artists, scientists, and organizations must apply to become a Creative
Teaching Partner. Applicants are reviewed and selected by a panel
of their peers--educators, arts administrators, artists, and science
experts. Partners have been approved to work in the following areas
of specialization: in-school residencies, planning and professional
development, and youth development.
