Arts & Economic Prosperity: The Economic Impact of Nonprofit Arts Organizations and Their Audiences
Americans for the Arts released the findings of this study in June 2002. It reveals that America's nonprofit arts industry generated $134 billion in economic activity during 2000, including $53.2 billion in spending by nonprofit arts organizations and $80.8 billion in event-related spending by arts audiences.

Creative Economy Initiative
This economic impact study includes both commercial activity and the contributions of individual artists. It also examines strategic linkages between the commercial and nonprofit sectors, such as spin-off commercial activity originating from the nonprofit sector.

Local Initiatives Support Corporation
LISC helps resident-led, community-based development organizations transform distressed communities and neighborhoods into healthy ones—good places to live, do business, work and raise families. By providing capital, technical expertise, training and information, LISC supports the development of local leadership and the creation of affordable housing, commercial, industrial and community facilities, businesses and jobs.

Massachusetts Department of Business and Technology
The DED seeks to promote job creation and long-term economic growth in Massachusetts. It seeks to attract new businesses, to help existing businesses expand, to assist emerging firms in obtaining the resources necessary to prosper and grow and to provide assistance and training to the unemployed and underemployed.

Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development
DHCD provides leadership, professional assistance and financial resources to promote safe, decent affordable housing opportunities, economic vitality of communities and sound municipal management. DHCD forges partnerships with regional and local governments, public agencies, community based organizations and the business community to achieve common goals and objectives.

Massachusetts Development Finance Agency
MassDevelopment is a quasi-public agency that serves the communities of the Commonwealth as their state investment bank and real estate development agency. MassDevelopment provides financing and technical assistance to manufacturers, business enterprises, health and elder care providers, educational and cultural institutions.
