|Ipswich Arts & Illumination Celebration | Ipswich | 2013
The Ipswich Cultural Council's annual Arts & Illumination Celebration brings over 2,000 people of all ages from all walks of life to stroll along the community's pedestrian walkway and river's edge while viewing fifteen floating bonfires. The overall event includes musical performances, poetry readings, viewings of the 16 Elm Street historic house reconstruction, and a performance of the local history play, "Within These Walls." As in years past, this year's walk culminated at the Ipswich Community Art Show, celebrating its 26th anniversary. The activities that make up the three-day event are all free and open to the public, and the event epitomizes a collaborative community effort to celebrate the arts.
