|Sterling Battle of the Bands | Sterling | 2005
Sterling's Battle of the Bands gave young adults an opportunity to perform and listen to music from their peers while also learning about the importance of community involvement. Peter Cormier, the event's founder, recruited Sterling teens to become active in the planning, promotion, and execution of the annual Battle of the Bands event. The event also exposed teens to community service opportunities by inviting non-profit service agencies like Habitat for Humanity, Heifer Project International, and Rock the Vote, to come and promote their work.
