|Kids in Charge Program | Springfield | 2003
This program brought a distinctive and ancient art form to underserved youth, while simultaneously helped them gain self-esteem and develop life-long learning skills. Twenty-two young people in Beginner and Advanced levels experienced literal "hands-on" music making at numerous rehearsals and during performances. Through this program, the young musicians learned about cooperation, teamwork and self-discipline. They have performed at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, the Annual Springfield Boys & Girls Club Board Meeting and several other outlets.
